In Buwere, many young people finish school or drop out early and face a harsh reality: no job opportunities, no skills, and no way forward.
As a result, too many youths are trapped in a cycle of unemployment, poverty, and dependency-vulnerable to crime, substance abuse, or early parenthood.
At Buwere Community Development and Child Support Organisation, we believe that when you give a young person a skill, you give them the tools to build their own future. That's why we launched the Youth Skills Training and Empowerment Program- to unlock potential, restore hope and fuel self-reliance.
- What the Program Offers.
- Tailoring and Garment Making.
- Training young women and to sew school uniforms, clothing and reusable sanitary pads for both income and community benefit.
- Carpentry and Furniture Making
- Equipping youth with the skills to craft desks, chairs and household furniture- while meeting the needs of local schools and homes.
- Business and Financial Literacy
- Workshops on entrepreneurship, savings, bookkeeping, and how to start and manage small businesses.
- Mentorship and Soft Skills Development
- We teach communication, professionalism, team work ad goal setting to prepare youth for success beyond technical skills.
Why It Matters
- Over 60% of Uganda's population is under 25-but unemployment is high.
- Vocational skills offer a faster and more affordable path to income than formal education for many youth.
- Empowered youth become job creators, not just job seekers-strengthening the whole community.

Our Vision
- We aim to establish a fully equipped Youth Empowerment Centre with:
- Training rooms and work spaces.
- Tailoring machines and carpentry tools.
- Demonstration gardens and poultry coops.
- A savings group and start-up support system.

- EUR20/ $20 - Starter toolkit for one trainee.
- EUR50/ $50 - Tailoring machine or carpentry tools.
- EUR150/ $150 - One youth's full training course.
- EUR 500/ $500 - Help us equip the training Centre.
